Create some chaos? Sounds fun.

At the cold, dreary crack of noon, our favorite shadowrunners were awoken by their commlinks. McCallister’s voice came from the other side telling them that they had a potential job.

The group rushed down to Dante’s Inferno to hear about what task awaited them this time and, most importantly, how well it paid.

Mr. Johnson played things close to his chest, the runners realizing only that he was connected with some magic group or another. His job was simple, another group of runners had been hired for an extraction. This group was to distract Knight Errant in order to keep them off the backs of the main group. Hazard Pay was definitely in play.

The group decided that creating chaos was what they did best, and got to work.

With Seattle having just recovered from the unrest following Prop 23, our runners decided that the best way to cause a little panic would be to frame Humanis Policlub for an attack on the main entrance to the Ork Underground. They did this by sneaking smoke grenades and flash bangs into discrete locations throughout the mall atop the entrance. By the time the smoke cleared enough to see that no damage had been done, the runners were long gone and onto their next mission of mayhem.

Bug, the Rigger, jury-rigged an ultrasound sensor to be a portable Jammer. He took his jammer through the Magnolia neighborhood in a stolen Aztechnology car in order to set off every home security alarm that relied on a matrix connection. This caused a commotion in another part of town and spread Knight Errant that much thinner.

Bug also used pieces of prior Humanis videos to forge a claim to the attack on the Ork Underground.

Ripper found his way into a building facing Humanis Policlub’s headquarters. Using his Krime Kannon, he blew up the beer fridge in the Humanis break room. Using a burner commlink, he then called KE and reported the explosion before ditching the device.

The group also handed a few kilograms of explosives to some Halloweeners, ostensibly to blow up cars in the parking structure at SeaTac International Airport. Instead, the explosives were detonated as the gangers were en route and caused a highway pile up.

Lastly, the stolen Aztech car needed to be disposed of, so it was rigged to drive over the I-90 floating bridge at 90mph toward Council Island. About halfway across, it was rigged to burst into flames. About three-quarters of the way across, it exploded. Needless to say, Chaos ensued.

The runners were well-rewarded for their cover, and were even given bonus pay.

Splintered State Part 2

The group escaped from the zoo without a hitch. They were then called by a representative of Governor Brackhaven and another from Project Freedom about selling the Commlinks they had recovered.

The group decided to sell the Commlink to Project Freedom, as having DA Oaks owe them a favor sounded like a rather wiz reward.

The crew traveled to Dante’s Inferno to meet with the representative of Project Freedom and hand over the Commlinks. They were then offered another job, to infiltrate Brackhaven Investments and recover more data on the Governor that might be used against him.

Meeting up with McCallister’s son on the 61st floor of a hotel, the group got a bunch of ultralights with which to fly to Brackhaven Investments. They landed on the 10th Floor and Ripper breached the side of the building with his trusty monofilament chainsaw.

McCallister’s son ran to the server room and began the process of downloading the data while the group dealt with some security teams who had caught on to their presence.

When they had the data, Bug called back the ultralights and the group made their wild escape into the night.

Splintered State Part I

It was a lovely Monday morning, eyes shut, sleeping in. It was a lovely morning until Knight Errant kicked in the door and arrested everyone for hijacking a truck full of commlinks in Tacoma. It seriously didn’t even sound familiar.

Luckily you were not long for the lockup before some tiny little norm chica showed up and pulled you out. Legally even. Apparently she’s some hotshot lawyer called “Imaginary” Annie Goldsmith. She even set you up with a job, which is nice considering how your last job ended with you dropped in Seattle with little to nothing. Anything to get out of Colombia though.

The group all went to Banshee, a club in the Redmond Barrens. The place is seriously 20th Century wood and brick. It would be retro-chic if it weren’t for the fact that it was crumbling in front of you.

In the club was Mr. Johnson, a thin Korean human. Mr. Johnson offered a simple job. Just grab an item from a hotel room and bring it back. It seemed too good to be true.

The job did go off without a hitch. Aside from finding the former possessor of the Commlink dead in his own hotel room. Not your fault. The group retrieved two commlinks and brought them both to Mr. Johnson, who took the one he had requested and tossed the other to the group saying that they could probably find someone who would be interested in it.

The group was called by someone named Sam Dietrich, who offered them 100,000 nuyen, no questions asked, if they met him at the zoo and gave him the commlink. He seemed desperate, as if there were something on the commlink he didn’t want getting into the wrong hands.

Just after speaking with Sam, there was a knock at the door, followed by footsteps and insane giggling. Then, a frag grenade brought the door down. Luckily, the mage made short work of the attackers. People don’t deal with being on fire so well.

The group met with Sam at the zoo, but he seemed confused. He introduced himself as “Jake Armitage.” The mage assensed Dietrich/Armitage and saw that there were several souls in the same body. There was not much time to ponder how strange this was, for at that moment Dietrich/Armitage’s brain was spread over the Basilisk exhibit by a sniper. The group managed to get their pay by searching Dietrich’s pockets. They also found another commlink which helped them to make sense of some data found on the first.

As the group dealt with Basilisks on the loose, they heard sirens drawing closer.
